Watches worth lakhs of rupees seized from Krunal Pandya, DRI revealed

Krunal Pandya got four luxury watches of lakhs of Omega and Ambular Piguet to the custom and he was not declassified by Pandya for customs duty and also did not pay any fee for it. The watches were confiscated from Krunal Pandya and the custom was handed over for valuation. According to sources, Pandya was allowed to leave around midnight.

After the valuation of the watches is completed, Pandya will have to pay around 38 percent of its value as custom duty. The authority will decide further on the amount of penalty to be levied against Pandya. Once Pandya has paid customs and fines, the seized luxury watches will be handed over to them.

On Thursday evening, the DRI started questioning Krunal Pandya at the airport at 5 pm and was fined because of bringing more quantity of gold. If sources are to be believed, during the IPL in the UAE, he had bought a gold chain, which was found to have a high amount of permission under the Indian law. Pandya apologized for this and said that he will not make this mistake from now on. After this, the DRI allowed him to leave.

Krunal Pandya is part of the Mumbai Indians team. He is the elder brother of Team India's star all-rounder Hardik Pandya. In the IPL, both these brothers play with Mumbai Indians. Krunal Pandya has played 71 matches for Mumbai Indians in IPL. He was the man of the match in the final of IPL 2017. Mumbai Indians captured the title for the third time by defeating Rising Pune Supergiant. In this year's IPL, KL Rahul of Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) captured the Orange Cap while Delhi Capitals fast bowler Kagiso Rabada won the Purple Cap.
