If Google Photos is used, then this news is really like bad news for you. Because Google has announced that free unlimited high quality photos will not be able to be backed up on Google Photos.
Currently, through Google Photos, users get an option to upload unlimited high quality photos via Gmail ID to the cloud. From next year, as soon as 15GB of your Gmail account is exhausted, photos will be asked for backup.
Google has announced that from 2021 June, 15GB of camping will be done on Google Photos. Google still gives storage limit for uploading original quality. Just like you still cannot take unlimited backup of the original size image on Google Photos for free.
Google Photos is quite popular among both Android and iPhone users. Because here unlimited high quality photos are backed up on the direct cloud and your phone's storage is also not affected. This will change from 1 June 2021.
Google has said that Pixel users will be able to take high quality image unlimited backup even after June 1, 2021. There is now a storage limit for backup of original quality photos for pixel users too.
Google has also told that the company is giving more free storage than other companies despite 15GB camping. For example, Apple gives 5GB iCloud free to its users. Google has also claimed that 80% of Google Photos users are not able to fill 15GB of storage even in three years.
Let us tell you that pictures uploaded on Google Photos before 1 June 2021 will not count in 15GB camping. That is, you can upload unlimited high quality photos to Google Photos right now. The capping of 15GB of storage will be applicable only to pictures uploaded after 1 June 2021.
The reason for this change is being touted as the Google One service. Under Google One, the company offers cloud storage and other services to users on a subscription basis. VPN services are also provided under this.
