FIFA cancels U-17 Women's World Cup in India, right to host in 2022.

FIFA canceled the Under-17 Women's World Cup played in India due to the Covid-19 epidemic. Also, India has been given the right to host 2022. The tournament was postponed to 2021 due to Corona virus. The decision was taken by the FIFA Council bureau that assessed the impact of the current Covid-19 epidemic on global football.

The statement issued by FIFA said that the inability to postpone these tournaments (Under-17 Women's and Under-20 Women's World Cups) on the recommendations of the FIFA Confederation Working Group constituted for Covid-19 for both ages. With the cancellation of the 2020 phase of the class, he has been given the right to hold the next event.

The FIFA-Confederation Covid-19 Working Group canceled the Under-17 Women's World Cup as well as the Under-20 Women's World Cup 2020 after consulting all stakeholders. Both the next World Cup will be held in 2022, which will be hosted by the current host countries.

The statement said that after further consultation between FIFA and the respective host member associations regarding the 2022 editions of the tournament, the bureau awarded Costa Rica the FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup 2022 and India the FIFA Women's Under-17 World Cup 2022 Hosting is assigned. Earlier in India, this World Cup was scheduled to be held in November this year but due to Covid-19, it was postponed to next year (2021) February-March.
